Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
As a Member Service Representative, you will:
• Adhere to established policies and procedures to minimize losses and ensure compliance.
• Respond promptly to member inquiries regarding lending, providing accurate information within your scope of authority and knowledge.
• Obtain applicant information through various channels for secured loans, unsecured loans, and real estate-related loans.
• Review and interpret credit report information to assess applicants' creditworthiness.
• Input applicant data into our lending system for document generation and processing.
• Make credit decisions within delegated authority, consulting with senior lending personnel when necessary.
• Notify applicants of loan approval, denial, or requests for additional information.
• Follow proper loan closing procedures to ensure accurate completion of all required documentation.
• Collaborate with the Mortgage Department to process mortgage applications, serving as the applicant's primary point of contact.
• Familiarize yourself with Alden Credit Union's loan products, IRA products, and referral processes.
• Review security alerts for fraud prevention and verify the authenticity of cash or checks.
• Provide access to safe deposit areas and assist members with various account-related services.
• Perform account research, balance accounts, and update records as needed.
• Serve at the Greeter Station and act as a temporary teller during peak periods.
• Assist with other duties as required to support the operations of the credit union.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Desired:
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional on-the-job training in loan origination preferred.
• Minimum of three years' experience in a bank or credit union, with exposure to loan origination, processing, and servicing.
• Working knowledge of Alden Credit Union's loan policies, procedures, products, and services.
• Familiarity with applicable state and federal laws/regulations governing lending activities.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with members and colleagues.
• Proficiency in computer usage and data entry.
• Positive outlook and commitment to providing excellent service.
• Good eyesight, hearing, and manual dexterity for handling documentation and interacting with members.
